Irbesartan is used in the treatment of Hypertension (high blood pressure), prevention of heart attack and stroke and Heart Failure.

Hypertension with diabetic nephropathy or kidney disease

• Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.
• Swallow it as a whole.
• Do not chew, crush or break it.

Irbesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It relaxes the blood vessel by blocking the action of a chemical that usually makes blood vessels tighter. This lowers the blood pressure, allowing the blood to flow more smoothly to different organs and the heart to pump more efficiently.
